If you follow this blog, you know that I consider Bill Lindsey’s Bilgrimage blog essential reading, and that I cite it all the time and regularly use it as a resource for my own writing. I read it day in and day out, and when you do that with a blog, you start to feel like you really know the person behind the website. That’s what blogs are for, isn’t it? On top of that, Bill has been kind enough to read my blog and to occasionally share some of my posts.
So it was with immense joy that I clicked over this evening, just doing my normal reading, and saw that Bill and his partner of more than 40 years, Steve, took advantage today of the brief window in which the state of Arkansas was offering marriage licenses to gay couples. They got hitched!
At his blog, Bill tells the whole story:
Everything has happened as if in a blur, so quickly and with us out of town, that we simply stepped out in faith, as some folks say, and came down to the courthouse as early as we could this morning after we returned home yesterday evening, not knowing if the line would be so long we couldn’t get documents, or if the state would issue a stay before we were able to marry.
Congratulations to Bill and Steve and, readers, go visit his site if you like being happy!
