Three Things for Saturday Night

[Quick things. I’m up too late.]

1.Speaking of Joan of Arc, if any conversation can be about religion without ever mentioning religion, it’s this interview between Kim Gordon and Mary Gaitskill.

2. I need to write a longer post about this, but Emily Stimpson’s latest at touches all the things I’ve been getting at lately. Like when—exactly as Budziszewski does—she says that men are called to fatherhood and that “In fatherhood, strength is ordered to service, power to protection, and love to letting go.”

How, exactly, is that different than what we’d call good in motherhood?

Nevermind, I know the answer: it just is.

3. Libby Anne at Love, Joy, Feminism makes a great point about the thin line between respect for women and disgust towards them in modesty-obsessed religious cultures.
